Where We Started
Desi Fest Boston was founded in 2025 by a small group of Punjabi and Indian families in Everett, Massachusetts who wanted their children to grow up connected to their culture, language, and traditions. What began as informal Diwali and Baisakhi gatherings in living rooms and backyards has grown into a community-wide movement — one that now brings together hundreds of families, local businesses, and neighbors each year.
As a nonprofit, every event we run is powered by volunteers and made possible through the generosity of local sponsors and community members. We don't run for profit — we run for connection, culture, and continuity, ensuring Punjabi and South Asian heritage has a permanent home in Greater Boston.
Our Mission
To preserve and celebrate Punjabi and Indian culture in Greater Boston through community festivals, volunteer service, and programs that connect generations — while building bridges with the broader Boston community.
